In the early ninties after the Los Angeles riots, The Awareness Foundation
with the help of James Earl Jones, the LA City Council and Richard Riordan,
the Mayor of Los Angeles, took on the challenge of Rebuilding LA. The Awareness Foundation's vision was a simple one - to locate and refurbish, buildings that had
fallen by the wayside, give them a face lift both inside and out and transform these
empty rooms into rooms of learning - DISCOVERY CENTERS.
